you guessed love and limits, you are right. Or maybe you said nurture and
structure. Also right! Learn how parents can lead with backbone,
firm when necessary and flexible when the situation calls for it. Learn how to
reinforce rules with choices and consequences, “I” messages, problem solving
and encouragement. Sign up today in the Narthex. Our presenter will

new is happening at Hope. Beginning

for activities, committees, and church events will be done via a laptop

for visitors and members alike will be at your disposal. An assistant will be available to answer
questions about Hope’s activities and help with computer entry, etc. This is an on-going project with periodic
additions and deletions taking place to make it useful and accessible to our membership. Your input and constructive suggestions will

We are planning to do a special dinner at the Pleasant Valley Shelter on December 7th. We will be looking for gloves, scarves, hats, and other warm clothing items to take on the 7th. If these items can be gift wrapped, it would be wonderful. We hope to give the men at the shelter a very special dinner the likes of which they have never had before. If you have any ideas that would make this a special event, contact Ken Parshall at kjpar_2004@yahoo.com or

THE
The
Building Expansion Committee The Building Committee appointed by
Church Council continues to meet on a regular basis. Thus far the
committee has had numerous meetings with various leaders to discuss the future
expansion of our parish. The committee has met with our ELCA Mission
Investment Fund representative, a financial analyst to forecast trends in
growth and giving, a civil engineer who has provided a blueprint for additional
parking, and a local architect who has provided input on what the expansion
will look like, based on our anticipated future needs. As the committee
continues to move forward in this endeavor, future updates will be provided,
with a formal presentation to the congregation planned for later this
fall. In the meantime if you have any questions about this project, please
contact Pastor Brown at pastorron@hopelutherancranberry.org or
724-7763141 or Steve Smith, Committee Chair, at smiths505@gmail.com.

Summer
Stewardship
Summer giving is always a
challenge in every congregation. As we look forward to the summer here at Hope
Church please help us to maintain a healthy level of giving throughout the
summer, even if you are going to be away. You can mail your contribution to the
church during extended absences, or even better yet you can enroll in “Simply
Giving” (please contact the parish office) to ensure that your financial
support always arrives on a regular basis. Thank you for your ongoing financial
partnership in the ministry of Hope Church. We consistently have more ministry
opportunities to engage and your support makes that possible.
