The Reverend Ronald A. Brown, Senior Pastor


Pastor Ron Brown has been serving Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church since being called to the office of pastor in March 2003. He is a native of southwestern Pennsylvania; he was born in Connellsville, Pa., and was raised in the church at Trinity Lutheran Church. He has been a rostered pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in the Southwestern Pennsylvania (SWPA) Synod since being ordained in 1999. Pastor Brown earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology from California University of Pennsylvania in 1995 and a master’s degree in divinity in 1999 with a curriculum concentration in Town and Country Church Ministry from the Lutheran Theological Seminary of Gettysburg in Gettysburg, Pa. Pastor Brown was called to serve Trinity Lutheran Church in Derry, Pa., and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ligonier, Pa., in May 1999. He served those parishes faithfully until March 2003 when he accepted the call to serve Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He is an active member of the SWPA Synod, serving as a board member for Lutheran SeniorLife, and is a member of the Synod Education Committee. He and his wife, Brenda, an elementary school teacher in the Seneca Valley School District, have two daughters – Nicole Grace and Molly Ann. They live in Cranberry Township, Pa.

Prayerfully, others will see the light of Christ in what I am called to do as I live out my vocation serving God and the Church in Word and Sacrament ministry. I am hopeful they will follow my example in their own vocations.”
